Riding my bike to work has proven to always be an adventure. This morning was ultra fun!
The first part of the enjoyment was the very slight drizzle. Nothing too crazy, just not so pleasant. However, because of the wet weather, the ground was wet, causing my bike to slide onto the grass at the end of a small ramp. Usually not an issue, but when my tire caught the edge of the curb, I definitely almost fell over. Strike 1.
I rode on and as I turned a corner, the top shell of my helmet flew off into my face. Strike 2.
As a result of my little tiff with the curb, my chain kept popping every now and then like I was switching gears. Strike 3.
I just kept telling myself “not too much longer.. I just need to get into work!”
I turned another corner and the rain started coming down a little harder. Strike 4. Wait.. isn’t it only supposed to be 3 strikes?! Well f.
Not too long after that, I ran into Kate and walked the rest of the way with her. I’m pretty sure it was that little bit of walking and talking that allowed me to still come into work in a good mood.
Happy Friday m-effers!
